COMPANY PROFILE
 
JFECC is a specialty outside electrical contracting firm founded by John F. Edwards Sr. in 1947. The company is now a second-generation business and is currently owned and operated by John Edwards Jr. We are headquartered in Geneseo, IL which is approximately thirty miles east of Moline, IL on Interstate 80. The company is a IBEW union contractor and has been so since originally founded.

The Company initially specialized in overhead electrical distribution and transmission work for power companies in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. Starting in the late 1960's, JFECC began focusing on underground electrical projects.

We currently concentrate on the following:

  • Wind Farm Electrical Collection Systems - complete design and installation of electrical collection
    systems including trenched underground cable, transformers and tower wiring.
  • Specialty Lighting Projects
     - Installation of roadway lighting systems for interstate, state & county highways and residential neighborhoods.
     - Sports lighting for school, recreational and professional sporting venues.    
     - Commercial lighting systems including shopping center parking lots.
  • Airport Lighting and Navaids - parking and runway illumination, aircraft taxi lighting and navigational
    aid systems for commercial and general aviation airports.
  • ITS Projects - CTCV systems, changeable messages systems, traffic county systems.
  • Traffic Signal Systems - installation of traffic signal networks associated with larger intersections
    and multiple time-sequenced traffic lights and traffic surveillance  cameras.
  • Highway Signing - installation of illuminated highway signs including variable message signs.
  • Directional Boring - installation of underground electrical cable, fiber and telephone for all of the
    above referenced installation services.
